ART ON

WOOD

Acrylic paint

Sharpie marker

Paint marker

Graphite

Water color

I have always loved the execution of art on wood but I didn't start exploring this until we hit the 2020 quarantine. A neighbor asked if I could make her a little sign for her home. As I was sitting in her yard in the middle of a weekday, while the rest of the world was in a tizzy about the impending doom of the corona virus, I decided I had an opportunity to try to uplift the spirits of our little slice of paradise neighborhood and started to just make little positive signs to place around. By word of mouth, I acquired more little projects and more folks wanted signs. I started playing with different mediums and styles on the wood. Super fun but also learned that wood is not the easiest substrate and that normal old paint markers fade in the sun.
